Congressman sponsors bill to Abolish the Department of Education
Rep. Barry Moore authored it with support from Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor-Greene
As an American citizen who believes in the importance of education, I fully support Congressman Barry Moore's plan to eliminate the Department of Education. For too long, our education system has been bogged down by federal bureaucracy and the misguided agendas of so-called "woke activists."
As Congressman Moore has pointed out, education is not a one-size-fits-all proposition. Every state and local community has unique needs and challenges that require tailored approaches to education. By dismantling the Department of Education, we can return power and control to the states and local communities, allowing them to make decisions that best serve the needs of their students.
Furthermore, I share Congressman Moore's concern that the Department of Education has been overrun by "woke activists" who are more concerned with pushing their political agendas than with providing a quality education for our children. We have seen this in the rise of critical race theory and other divisive ideologies that seek to divide students along racial and cultural lines.
By eliminating the Department of Education, we can put an end to the federal government's influence over our children's education and prevent the infiltration of these harmful ideologies into our schools. Instead, we can focus on promoting true diversity, equity, and inclusion by empowering local communities to make decisions that benefit all students, regardless of their race or background.
The bill is cosponsored by Reps. Ralph Norman (SC-05), Matt Gaetz (FL-01), Byron Donalds (FL-19), Marjorie Taylor Green (GA-14), and Eli Crane (AZ-02).
